Position Summary

Piko Provisions seeks a Farmer's Market & Special Events Manager, hungry to make a change in our local food system by helping to execute our farmer's market and special event initiatives. This person will be responsible for coordinating and executing farmer's markets and special events to maximize community impact and achieve goals for the organization.

You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting and expanding the onsite, weekly operations of our farmers market program and special events throughout the year as well as seeking out opportunities to attend and have a presence at more!

To be successful in this position, you should be able to build pilina (relationship, connection) and extend aloha with people from all walks of life. You should demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. The majority of the internal communication will be with Piko Provisions CEO, branding agency and internal sales and marketing members.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Consumer packaged goods company and/or farm experience preferred
• Experience in organizing and having run special events (farmers markets, sporting activities, product demos, food shows, trade shows, etc.)
• Knowledge of in-person product sales and marketing
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, relationships management and presentation skills. Clear communicator, both verbally as well as in written form
• Self-starting, motivated entrepreneurial business orientation
• Thrives in a startup environment but is also comfortable in a more corporate setting
• Strong sense of job ownership coupled with a solid team/collaborative work style and orientation
• Complex problem-solving and multitasking capabilities with high attention to detail
• Innovative, resourceful, caring, and creative thinker
• Highly organized, with a strong, attention-to-detail approach to execution
• Cultural competency to work well with all people from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with technology, shopify and using point of sale systems.
• Lift at least 50 pounds safely.
• Knowledge of legal requirements for events will be an asset
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to work with a flexible schedule in order to accommodate weekends, holidays and special event schedules and opportunities

Job Duties

• Serve as an effective sales agent by connecting families with healthy local food and the mission of Piko Provisions while providing the highest level of customer service connecting and engaging with parents, family members and community members of all kinds in a friendly and approachable manner.
• Set up and tear down equipment and market display booths, and ensure that operations run smoothly throughout each market day.
• Have a thorough understanding of Piko Provisions’ overarching mission and products and be able to effectively communicate this to the public and exemplify our core values within the work environment and larger community.
• Execute on our farmers market and special events strategy
• Meet or exceed goals and objectives for sales and event metrics
• Abiding by market policies and complying with the laws and regulations of relevant agencies such as the Department of Health and all state and federal guidelines.
